The Eight-Day Musical Cuckoo Clock, from the Black Forest Region of Germany, gives you all things that the traditional clock makers planned for, in a cuckoo clock. When you look at them and listen to that customary sound, for a brief moment, they allow you to become part of the culture of the Black Forest.

Next, you observation the artisanship, the attentiveness to information and the hand carved Linden (Lime) wood. Linden wood is widely ready throughout the Region and is not too hard to carve but it is hard sufficient to make a very durable clock. The cuckoo-bird was a very coarse sight in the Black Forest during the 1700's. They were the constant companion to all that wandered straight through the Forest. In the mean time, you are listening to the Edelweiss or the Happy Wanderer melody, while a young girl is ringing the bell along side of the Ompha band (musicians). All of the exterior features of the clock are part of the culture of the Black Forest of Germany and the foundation for the creation of the gorgeous Black Forest Cuckoo Clock.
